Who's to blame? [1/25/2007]
As I was walking down the street the other day, I met a very beautiful young girl. She seemed to be about 14 years old. As I walked by her, I saw the sadness on her face. Something inside me stirred, and I decided to sit chat with her.
I found out the reason for her sadness. She was 3 months pregnant and didn't know what to do. Her parents were not even aware of the situation, and her so-called boyfriend decided to buy his way out. As I sat there looking down at this girl, emotions overtook my conscience. She was but a mere child, so young and beautiful. Who is to blame? Is it her parents who are so unaware of what’s happening in their daughter's life, or the irresponsible guy who made her pregnant, or the school for not giving her enough education about prevention or birth control, or the girl who didn’t make the right choice?
